V.Grouping and Age Categories

1.The competition has Domestic Group and International Group

2.Age Categories:

Group A: 11 Years of Age and under (born on January 1, 2012 and after)

Group B: 12 to 17 Years of Age (born between January 1, 2006 and December 31, 2011)

Group C: 18 to 39 Years of Age (born between January 1, 1984 and December 31, 2005)

Group D: 40 to 59 Years of Age (born between January 1, 1964 and December 31, 1983)

Group E: 60 Years of Age and above (born between December 31, 1963 and before)

VI.Competition Methods

1.The uploaded video for competition must be the participant’s solo performance of Compulsory or Traditional routines of Taijiquan or Taijijian. Other videos shall not be judged.

2.Viewers may vote for the videos via the official website of Chinese Wushu Association, Apps or WeChat Official Account. Each viewer (IP Address) may vote twice for each video per day. The domestic viewers may only vote via WeChat Official Account.

3.The video must be specially filmed for this competition. The uploaded video must be an uninterrupted and continuous shooting without editing or producing.

4.Those who fail to pass the compliance check, do not meet the requirements of the regulations, and the registered events do not match the competition video will not be judged.

5.The Yang Style Taijiquan (40 Forms), Chen Style Taijiquan (56 Forms), Wu Style Taijiquan (45 Forms), Wuu Style Taijiquan (46 Forms), Sun Style Taijiquan (73 Forms), 42 Forms Taijiquan, 42 Forms Taijijian, 24 Forms Simplified Taijiquan and 32 Forms Taijijian of compulsory routines are routines approved by the former State Physical Education & Sports Committee, Wushu Research Institute of the General Administration of Sports of China, and Chinese Wushu Association.

6.The offline judging shall be subject to the relevant provisions of the 2019 Edition of Traditional Wushu Competition Rules and Judging Methods (Trial) approved by the International Wushu Federation.

7.Routine Duration Limits:

Time duration is between 3 to 6 minutes in total for taolu competitions.

8. Deductions by the Head Judge

a. The time it takes the athlete to complete the routine: If it is less than the specified time or exceeds the specified time by a total time of within 5 seconds (including 5 seconds), 0.1 points will be deducted; if it is less than the specified time or exceeds the specified time between 5 and 10 seconds (including 10 seconds), 0.2 points will be deducted; if it is less than the specified time or exceeds the specified time by more than 10 seconds, 0.3 points will be deducted. At most 0.3 points may be deducted for time. (Timing will commence from the first movement an athlete makes after they have assumed a static position. Once an athlete has assumed an upright position and brings his or her feet next to each other upon completion of his or her routine, the timing will stop).

b. If the athlete fails to perform in the movement order of compulsory routine, add or modify movement, 0.1 point will be deduced for each occurrence. Over 5 occurrences, no final score will be given to the performance.

c. For the accompanying music, if vocals of any form appear in the music, 0.1 points will be deducted.

9. When equal scores occur, the participant with more online votes gets the higher place.

VII.Placing and Awards

1.Placing and awards is conducted separately for the Domestic Group and the International Group.

2.Participants by grouping and gender, according to offline judging results, are ranked for 1st Prize (awarded to 20% of the participants), 2nd Prize (awarded to 30% of the participants), and 3rd Prize (awarded to 50% of the participants). For the calculation of the placing, the final digit is rounded off. Each prize recipient will receive a digital certificate. Those who are not awarded scores will not be rated and no certificates will be awarded.

3.‘Viewers’ choice’ Award. Participants by grouping and gender, according to online voting results, are ranked for 1st Prize (awarded to 20% of the participants), 2nd Prize (awarded to 30% of the participants), and 3rd Prize (awarded to 50% of the participants). For the calculation of the placing, the final digit is rounded off. Each prize recipient will receive a digital certificate. If one receives the number of votes is 0, no digital certificate will be awarded.

4.For both the domestic and international groups, a ‘Viewers’ Top Choice’ award (digital certificate) will be presented to the participants with most votes.

5.The final result and placing list will be released on the website of Chinese Wushu Association in a timely manner. The participants may log on the official website of the competition to download and print out the digital certificate 7 days after the results announcement. The certificate download period is one month, after which the certificate download port is disabled.

6.If there are only 2 participants registered in an event, the one with the higher score will be awarded the second prize. If there is only one participant registered in an event, he/she will be awarded the third prize.

VIII.Technical Officials and Jury of Appeal

Technical officials will be invited to conduct offline judging and Appeal. The selection and duties of the technical officials and member of the Jury is subject to the Rules.

IX. Appeal and Ruling

1.Appeal

a.Criteria and Content: Appeals may only be lodged with regards to deductions by the Head Judge, including:

Deduction on the athlete’s performance being inferior to or exceed the time limits.

Deduction on the athlete failing to perform in the movement order of compulsory routine, adding or modifying movement.

Deduction on the inappropriate accompanying music.

b.Procedure and Requirements: If a participant objects to the deduction, he/she must lodge an online appeal before 24:00 September 3, 2023 (Beijing Time), together with an appeal fee of US$200. Each appeal may only address one issue.

1.Ruling

a. The Jury of Appeal shall receive participants’ appeal and make decisions in a timely manner. If the basis of the appeal is ruled legitimate the result will be altered, and the appeal fee will be refunded; if the basis for the appeal is ruled as illegitimate, the original result will be upheld, and the appeal fee will not be refunded.

b. Each participant must accept the ruling of the Jury of Appeals as final.

c. A written notice of the ruling will be issued to the participant who has lodged the appeal.

2.If a participant has objection against the issues of the Viewers’ Choice’ award, please call the service hotline (+86 10 67158866-667 or +86 10 67158866-775) during working hours (Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 17:00) or send an email to liangzh@sports.cn during non-working hours. When verified, the result may be altered.

X. Entry

1. Entry Method

The overseas participant shall submit entry through his/her national/regional federation. The federation shall upload the participant’s video after verification on the eligibility and content in accordance with the Regulations. There is no limitation on the number of participants and competition events submitted by each federation.

The domestic participant shall submit entry in his/her own name. The participant shall upload the video after real-name authentication by mobile phone number and ID card. There is no limitation on competition events submitted by each participant.

The federation or participant may submit entry via the official website of the Chinese Wushu Association, tthe official website of 2023 China-Latin American and Caribbean States Taijiquan Online Competition, or Official Account of the Chinese Wushu Association, the details may be found in the Instructions for the Participation of 2023 China-Latin American and Caribbean States Taijiquan Online Competition.

2. Uploaded Video Requirements:

a. After completing the registration, the applicant must complete the registration information and upload the videos within the specified time. The video time should not be less than the completion time of the routine; otherwise the registration cannot be completed. One person can only submit one video for each competition. If one event submits multiple videos, it will not be scored.

b. The uploaded video must be uninterrupted and continuous shooting without editing. The video format shall be MP4 or other common video format. A video file size of 300MB or less is recommended. The frames and graphics of the video shall be clear and stable. The participant must be visible and stable in the frame and occupy from 50% to 70% of the screen.

c. There are no restrictions for the area and place of performance - it can be indoors or outdoors, on a carpet or other surface. Please ensure that the video is well lit so that judges can see each action accurately and that the video should not contain extraneous noise. If there is low light in the video, the uploaded video will not be accepted.

d. The video must be specially filmed for this competition. If it is found that the video has been used in other competitions, it will not be graded. Participants are advised not to wear face masks. If the video is found to have been used in another competition, it will not be graded.

e. Falsification and impersonation are strictly prohibited. Once verified, the participant will be disqualified and all the results of the competition will be cancelled.

f. Any video editing is prohibited. Otherwise, it will be regarded as cheating and will not be graded.

g. Horizontal camera position, frontal recording. The camera should be

placed on a tripod to ensure static recording. Only the turn of camera to the right and to the left is allowed. The camera must be positioned at the head level of the seated operator and the athlete must remain in the frame throughout the video.

j. The uploaded video shall contain three major parts: a pre-performance palm and fist salute, a complete routine with commence and conclusion stance, a post-performance palm and fist salute. However, the unnecessary performances like greetings, walking to the performance area or other ways that prolong the video is not allowed.

k. The athlete’s attire shall be clean and elegant, in line with Taijiquan characteristics. Videos of participants wearing shorts, vests, slippers, hats and sunglasses that do not meet the dress code will not be accepted.

l. Any content that violates social morality, relevant laws in any form,

including but not limited to images, pictures, icons, banners, slogans,

words, sound, etc., or advertising in the video is prohibited.

XI. Other Matters

1. This competition requires no entry fees.

2. The Chinese Wushu Association is responsible for supervision and

administration in the competition and has the right to disqualify any

participant that violates relevant rules and regulations.

3. Any fraud in entry, uploading video, or the content of the uploaded

video does not conform to the event settings or the requirements, will

lead to disqualification.

4. The participant’s account involved with voting fraud will be banned.

5. The participant’s performance and video shooting shall abide by the

local government’s policies and regulations on the epidemic prevention

and control, based on the premise of safety.

6. The power of interpretation of the Regulations rests solely with the

Chinese Wushu Association.
